Opportunities to Serve

Missions:
We provide adults and youth with opportunities to become personally involved in missions, both locally and abroad.  Supporting 9,000 missionaries who take the message and ministry of Jesus to lost people across the state, throughout the nation and around the world.  Our primary local Mission is "S.W.A.T." (Servants With a Task) ministering to those in Marshall County who need help.

Music Ministry:

At First Baptist, music is a very important part of our church.  We offer many music opportunities such as Children's Choir, Praise Band, Praise Team and Worship Choir.  We also do an exciting new Easter and Christmas Cantata each year.  We believe that through music we are able to serve and magnify our Heavenly Father. Psalms 150:6 " Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord"

Bible Study:

Our age-graded Bible Study is designed and organized to reach, teach , and mistier to every member of the family.  The main priority if our Sunday morning classes is to study the Bible and learn how to apply these truths to everyday living.  It is in these classes that the fellowship with one's peers strengthens our bond with the Lord and with each other.  We have classes for Men and Women separately or if you prefer we have couples classes.  Our Sunday morning Bible study begins at 10:30 am.

Prayer Ministry:

At First Baptist we do not attempt anything without prayer.  There are many miracles walking among us as a result of prayer. We have 2 Annual Prayer Walks trying to cover our entire community.  We have developed and continue to develop several cell prayer groups. Our Sunday Evening Service is a prayer and praise service.

Spanish Ministry:

We have a Church who is active in the Spanish speaking community with a full time Spanish Minister on staff.  We offer ELS/SSL (English as second language/ Spanish as second language) on Tuesday nights at 6:30 pm.  Program is designed to reach the Spanish community with the love of Christ by helping them to develop English speaking skills.

Preschool & Nursery:

We provide child care for babies through pre-K for Worship services and Sunday School.  We believe children are never to young to learn.  We are concerned for the physical & spiritual well-being of our children, therefore, we have added an early Childhood Director to our staff to Minster to out little ones.  Jesus loves the children and so do we.

Children's Ministry:

We provide two complete Children's worship services divided by ages 3-pre-k and grades K-5th.  Kids Praise, age appropriate sermons and skits are all an important part of Children's worship.  AWANA'S is a powerful children's program that meets each Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.  It is a fast-paced scripture memorization program with game time an awards program.  AWANA'S is for children 3 years old thru 5th grade.  Summertime is a special time for our children with VBS, Sports Camp and Children's Camp along with weekly activities.

FBC Youth:

The Youth Ministry is a vibrant and important part of FBC.  The purpose is to provide students with a resource and events that are designed to meet the individual needs of students.  We understand that students from the 6th - 12th grades have different needs.  We have found that the best way to meet the needs of these students is to have the youth divided into two separate youth groups; Sr. High/Jr. High.

Sr. High Youth:

This youth group is designed to meet the needs of students attending 9th - 12th grade.  Some ministry events in the Senior High youth group are Music, Drama, Mission Trips, Student led Bible studies, Leadership classes, Falls Creek  and other Big Events.

Jr. High Youth:
This youth group is designed to meet the needs of a student attending the 6th- 8th grade.  Some of the ministries are: Food Ministry, Mission Trips, Adult lead Bible studies, Discipleship Classes, Falls Creek Summer Camp and other Big Events.

Connections:

A young adult worship/study experience for ages 19 and up with a challenging message on Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm and Sundays at 10:30 am.  Designed as an opportunity to minister to young adults, through fellowship, small group meetings in homes, sports activities, meals in motion and other recreational events.  All of these activities are done to encourage one another as we grow in out relationship with Jesus Christ.

Recreation:

Recreation is a new and developing ministry at FBC.  We have a fully equipped Family Life Center which includes a Gymnasium and Walking/Running Track that is open to the public.  Recreation activities  include; Men and Women basketball free play nights and aerobic classes. Annual activities such as; FBC Sports Camp and Upward Basketball league.

Women's Ministry:

Our Women's ministry is active with a Food Pantry, Thanksgiving meal and clothing drive, prayer groups and discipleship programs.  Sunday School classes geared for single and married with and without children. We also have a new Women's Center and attend regional conferences.

Senior Adults:

We have a full time Senior Adult Minister who oversees the activities of our Senior Adults  (55 & older).  Our Ministry is called S.A.L.T. from Matt. 5:13.  It is our desire to have monthly events of special interest for our Seniors to allow and foster fellowship and personal growth.  One day trips, extended trips, concerts and opportunities for service are among the services offered.  SALT was developed because we are aware of the great gifts and talents that lay in this generation.

Men's Ministry:

We have an active Men's Ministry.  The Men have a weekly morning Bible study every Tuesday at 6:30 am.  In addition they sponsor mission activities, sport camps, meals for student athletics, Saturday serve, Civil Servants Banquet and an all male sports banquet.  They also provide Saturday night prayer meeting at 10:00 pm
